METALLICA has topped Pollstar‘s LIVE75 chart for a fourth consecutive week, based on a sold-ticket average of 55,116 from four European performances on the band’s “WorldWired” tour, with an average gross of $5.3 million.

METALLICA‘s June 3 outdoor performance at Madrid, Spain’s IFEMA was attended by 69,897 fans; 51,799 tickets were sold to the May 5 show at Barcelona, Spain’s Olympic Stadium; while the San Siro Hippodrome in Milan moved 47,500 tickets for their sold-out event on May 8. The combined attendance count from all three hit 169,196 for an overall gross of $16 million (€14.3 million).

The spring/summer 2019 leg of METALLICA‘s European tour commenced on May 1 at Estádio do Restelo in Lisbon, Portugal and includes 25 dates across the continent, closing at Mannheim, Germany’s Maimarktgelände on August 25. The trek is visiting 20 countries in total, with stop in cities METALLICA didn’t play on part one of the European “WorldWired” leg, which was an indoor arena tour.

The “WorldWired” tour has played more than 130 shows across the world since its 2016 kick-off.

Last November, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Mercury News that the trek could last through early 2020.

The San Francisco Bay Area metal giants have been touring in support of their latest album, “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct”, which came out in November 2016.
