Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill Explodes In Minnesota

According to Startribune.com, a Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill food truck exploded in a residential neighborhood in Lakeville, Minnesota late Friday night, damaging as many as 20 homes and leaving the area strewn with twisted metal, broken glass and insulation.

On Saturday morning, investigators were on the scene picking through the wreckage. John Kornmann, Lakeville deputy police chief, said two injuries have been reported. One of them is considered “hearing related.”

Police suspect the blast was related to a cooking gas tank on a Motley Crews Heavy Metal Grill food truck parked in the driveway of a house on the 16500 block of Joplin Path.

Authorities initially responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m. after a loud boom, that could be heard miles away, erupted on the block. Lakeville police received more than 80 phone calls regarding the blast, with reports from as far away as Farmington.

The explosion shook nearby homes, shattered windows, snapped 2-by-4s in garages, blew open front doors and rattled dishes and other items from their shelves and off walls. Residents startled from sleep awoke and others watching TV quickly checked on sleeping children before running outside to see their neighbor’s food truck blown to smithereens.
