Puerto Rico’s Calamity has revealed the artwork for their debut album Imminent Disaster. The complete visual design was made by artist Kadriel Betsen, who designed the artwork for the recent documentary of Puerto Rico Heavy Metal scene The Distorted Island. Betsen has also collaborated with the legendary bands from the local scene Dantesco and Organic.
“We wanted to transmit our Puerto Rican identity through the artwork and combine it with the traditional aesthetic of thrash metal. Kadriel came up with the right idea to accomplish that and we couldn’t be more satisfied,” affirms Berny Santos (Calamity front man)
Imminent Disaster is scheduled to be released on December 18 and will be mixed and mastered by Francisco Barreras, whom has previously worked with Ramon Ortiz (Puya/Ancla)
Calamity announced their first US tour in December/January with their Puerto Rican companions Zafakon.
“Going on tour with a new album will be the best opportunity we have had so far,” adds Berny. “We estimate more than fifteen shows in different states and the fact that we are going alongside our big bros from Zafakon makes thing a lot more exciting.”
