More than thirty people were arrested Saturday night (July 23) at the GUNS N’ ROSES concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said a 30-year-old woman was arrested during the event and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. She remained in police custody Sunday night.
Williams told NJ 101.5 that there were several other arrests during the show for charges ranging from marijuana possession to solicitation, including:
* 9 disorderly conduct arrests;
* 11 solicitation arrests;
* 1 arrest for “open lewdness”;
* 1 resisting arrest charge;
* 2 arrests for simple assault;
* 1 charge of harassment;
* 3 criminal trespassing arrests; and
* 1 arrest for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana.
GUNS N’ ROSES played another show Sunday at MetLife Stadium, which which has a maximum capacity for concerts at around 50,000-55,000.
In other news, WickedLocal.com reported that two employees at Gillette Stadium were arrested and charged breaking into a fellow employee’s car during GUNS N’ ROSES concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts last Tuesday (July 19).
The men were charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property over $250 and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
A review of the stadium’s video surveillance footage revealed that two people got out of a vehicle and took the items from the victim’s car and then put it into their own vehicle. The men had forced a window open in the vehicle to gain entry.
The two were placed under arrest and the items were recovered.
According to The Sun Chronicle, a total of four people were arrested and another sixteen were taken into protective custody for intoxication during Tuesday night’s GUNS N’ ROSES concert at at Gillette Stadium, which was attended by 42,100 fans. At Wednesday’s (July 20) GUNS N’ ROSES performance at the same stadium, where there were 21,700 in attendance, there were a total of six arrests and five taken into protective custody.
