RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, AUDIOSLAVE and PROPHETS OF RAGE guitarist Tom Morello will publish a book about his career titled “Whatever It Takes” later this year through Genesis Publications. The signed limited-edition book will explore Morello‘s entire career from his first bands through to his most recent solo album, “The Atlas Underground”. The exact publication date will be announced soon.

Morello, who is well known for his political activism, told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that social change has always been his main motivation for making music. “I need to add my voice and what I do best, which is play guitar, you know,” he said. “I need to be another link in the chain to start turning this thing around. You know, as the great historian Howard Zinn says, you can’t be neutral on a moving train, and this train’s moving in the wrong direction. And it’s not time to be sitting in the dining car sipping martinis, it’s time to be mugging the conductor.”

In addition to touring behind his solo LP, Morello has shows scheduled this summer in Europe with PROPHETS OF RAGE, the group combining members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, PUBLIC ENEMY and CYPRESS HILL. Their second album is due out later this year as well.

The guitarist also said recently that there are no plans for RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to reunite anytime soon. The band last performed live in 2011 and has not recorded any new original material since 1999’s “The Battle Of Los Angeles” album.
