Few musicians have the knowledge or talent to merge the symphonic sounds of the cello with rock music. But as evidenced by the emergence of Jela Cello, there is at least one musician who knows how to expertly combine both musical worlds.
And on November 6th, her latest album was issued, Christmas Dreams (released in a partnership between Imagen Records and Sanre Entertainment), which contains readings of such holiday classics as “Jingle Bells” (featuring Journey singer Arnel Pineda), “Deck The Halls”, “The Little Drummer Boy”, and “White Christmas,” among others.
In support of Christmas Dreams, Jela will be touring the US (including a soon-to-be-announced performance at Carnegie Hall), as well as television appearances.
Born in Valjevo, Serbia, Jela turned heads with an immensely popular cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” (which has attracted nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube), as well as leading the Jela Cello Power Symphony Orchestra (which is 60 musicians strong), in addition to be awarded such prestigious society awards as the Golden Shield and Golden Charter for her talents and contributions.
And soon, the masses will learn about Jela’s exceptional talents, on the strength of Christmas Dreams and upcoming US performances.
