CLUTCH Launch Series Of Track Commentary Videos; Neil Fallon Discusses “Abraham Lincoln”

Clutch, the influential heavy rock band from Maryland, have begun releasing commentary clips from singer Neil Fallon on it’s official Facebook page.

“This is the first in a series of clips we will be making public over the next couple of weeks and months”, states Fallon. “In these clips I speak about Clutch songs, both older and younger, and explain my thinking behind the lyrics. The loose theme under which the tracks were picked is myth and mythology. Stay tuned to Clutch’s Facebook page for more of these. As yesterday marks the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s death, it seems only appropriate to begin this series with our song, “Abraham Lincoln”.”

Clutch will be releasing From Beale Street To Oblivion on vinyl for the first time ever for Record Store Day. This is a limited colored vinyl double LP in a gatefold jacket. The album features Clutch’s best known single “Electric Worry”.

Clutch is currently working on their follow up to Earth Rocker which will be released in 2015.

Mastodon and Clutch are joining forces for The Missing Link Tour, which brings together both bands as they team with special guests Graveyard and Big Business – each taking part of the tour as support. Together, this night of heavy rock will be one of the heaviest and most exciting concert events of the year. Shows have been added in Honolulu on April 4th and Detroit on May 23rd.

Clutch singer Neil Fallon responded: “When we first announced the Missing Link itinerary it was received with a lot of excitement. It also received a good deal of consternation regarding the lack of a Detroit date. Myself included. So, we’re happy to announce that there is now a Detroit gig on May 23rd at the Freedom Hill Amphitheater. See ya there.”

The Missing Link Tour kicks off with support provided by Big Business, who recently supported Mastodon throughout a sold-out European tour. Sweden’s Graveyard will then take over the main support slot starting in Los Angeles on April 29th for the remaining dates, closing out the tour in Columbus, OH on May 24th. Tickets are on sale now.

Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster had this to say about the tour.”We are very much looking forward to our US tour with our friends in Mastodon. We always enjoy playing live but when we have the opportunity to share the stage with a band as inspiring as Mastodon we know each evening will be that much more special. See ya out there!”
