Finnish sci-fi death metal band, Coraxo, have released the second and third track-by-track video for their debut album, Neptune, mastered by Dan Swanö and out now via Massacre Records. See Parts 1 – 3 below.
Neptune takes a scifi journey into the unknown terrain, mixing together elements from bands like Tangerine Dream, ELP, Pink Floyd and Vangelis to old school death metal. The band creates a wall of 70’s synthesizer experimentation and harmonized multiple guitars and of classic death metal, blend it with the warm melodies of classic bands like Edge Of Sanity, as well as epic, soundtrack-like soundscapes and progressive song structures. Neptune is being released by Massacre Records, distributed by Soulfood/Sony Music, November 20th.
Neptune features a guest appearance of Musungu’s Ilkka Ferm (saxophone on ”In Adoration”). The album was recorded and mixed at Coraxo’s home studio Raivio Sound, Finland, and mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Sweden. The epic cover artwork is the product of American artist Chris Panatier.

Album teaser:
The album title Neptune gives you a glimpse of the idea for its sound; vast ocean that envelops you in the world that it hides within, and sometimes you need to go very deep to shine a light on the esoteric mysteries it holds. On the surface, it tells the science fiction story of future mankind that has come in contact with a hostile race, called Starlit Flame, that has aeons ago shed it’s corporeal form and now only interacts with the mundane through the nanomachines that still bind it to the physical universe. Violently it yearns for release from this form that it views as a prison, and it sees the existence of mankind as a hindrance to that progress.
Band lineup:
Tomi Toivonen – Vocals, Guitars, Programming
Ville Kokko – Bass
Ville Vistbacka – Drums
