“Council From Kaos” dei liguri Demetra Sine Die è un lavoro molto ambizioso che a mio avviso non mantiene quanto promette. I tre quarti d’ora circa del disco propongono un polpettone di dark e metal moderno progressivo, in cui si tenta di mettere insieme atmosfericità oscura, psichedelia ed intenzioni progressive, tuttavia la materia musicale non sempre è ben manipolata. In particolare poi non mi è piaciuta molto l’interpretazione del cantante, cosa che mi ha rovinato l’ascolto anche delle parti più riuscite.
Alla fine il lavoro è comunque sufficiente (anche se non ci spenderei i 20 euro che solitamente costa un cd), tuttavia mi pare che dai modelli dichiarati di riferimento (Tool, Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Neurosis ed ultimi Anathema) ci sia molta distanza, e per avvicinarsi anche solo lontanamente a quei livelli ci sia ancora parecchio lavoro da fare.
