In September 2014, Canadian vocalist/guitarist/producer Devin Townsend announced a special show at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London, England on April 13th, 2015 showcasing his new Z² album. Word laster came down that the Devin Townsend Project would be playing a warm-up show in the O2 Bournemouth, UK on April 11th in preparation of the Royal Albert Hall gig.
Fan-filmed video of the band playing two cuts from Townsend’s Ocean Machine record from 1997 – “Bastard” and “The Death Of Music” – for the first time ever at the Bournemouth show can be viewed below:
Devin Townsend drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen recently checked in with the following update:
“I officially played the most prestigious gig of my life. Royal Albert Hall was absolutely amazing tonight. I don’t know if this show will ever be topped. It was incredible playing one of the most iconic if not the most iconic venue in the world. It was surreal, electric, filled with positive energy and sold out! It was truly amazing.”
