The well documented mud-slinging match between Godsmack frontman Sully Erna and Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx – now in its sixth year – found a new forum recently when Erna appeared on the Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta’s podcast, The Jasta Show. They discussed Godsmack, retirement, sobriety, Erna’s relationship with the band’s record label, Metallica, and Erna’s thoughts on Sixx. Check out the interview below.
The animosity stems from the Godsmack song “Cryin’ Like A Bitch”, which has been stamped as a slam against Sixx following Godsmack’s Crüe Fest 2 experience in 2009.
On a May 2014 installment of his syndicated radio show Sixx Sense, Sixx commented on a request from Godsmack to be featured on the show to promote a new album. Sixx’s response: “Over my dead fucking body. Have some credibility. I mean, Jesus Christ! I’m so embarrassed for you. At least you can go, ‘We’ve got a new record and we don’t wanna be on that fucking radio show.'”
