According to Billboard.com, GUNS N’ ROSES was detained at the Canadian border for having a gun.

The incident happened on Friday, July 15 as the musicians were crossing the border coming from the Philadelphia tour stop on July 14, a band representative confirmed. The gun did not belong to any member of the band.

GUNS N’ ROSES singer Axl Rose spoke about the episode while performing to a sold-out crowd of 50,000 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre Saturday night (July 16).

Prior to “Out Ta Get Me”, he said (see video below): “You did what? What? ‘Oh, yeah, we found a gun.’ So we weren’t exactly arrested, we were detained.

“[The customs officers] were very nice. They were very nice. They were very understanding. You know, it happens — you can forget you had a fuckin’ gun. Wasn’t my gun.”

Drummer Steven Adler performed with GUNS N’ ROSES aty two shows this month: July 6 in Cincinnati and July 9 in Nashville.

Of the 25 shows GUNS N’ ROSES is playing on the “Not In This Lifetime” tour, twelve have either sold out or are close to it, with concert promoter Live Nation saying it expects to sell out five more on an average ticket price of $130.
