HALESTORM frontwoman Lzzy Hale is featured in the latest episode of Radio.com‘s “Style Files”. Check out the clip below.
On why she’s wearing pants the majority of the time while she tours in support of HALESTORM‘s new album:
Lzzy: “There’s something that happens when I perform in pants versus a dress. You just approach an audience in a different way. I like the toughness that comes with wearing pants and a leather jacket, or even Chuck Taylors. You just feel like all the sudden you’re punk rock and you can do anything.”
On her shoes:
Lzzy: “The majority of shoes that I own are six-inch heels… I’ve learned over the past many years being in the band how to navigate around the stage wearing heels. Originally it was something that I started because it was one more thing that the guys couldn’t do. A lot of people like to take photos of me navigating my guitar pedal board or my wah peddles with the heels and I still think it’s funny.”
On the ring she hasn’t taken off in 12 years:
Lzzy: “This is gonna sound so cheesy, but the guys and I all have these rings. My brother-slash-drummer and I decided we were going to get these rings made up. So we got four rings made up even though we hadn’t found our other members yet. [When we presented the rings to the other two members of the band] I [thought] they probably [wouldn’t] fit because they were randomly sized. [But] they fit both of their fingers on the right ring finger, perfectly.”
HALESTORM‘s third album, “Into The Wild Life”, sold around 56,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart.
“Into The Wild Life” was released on April 14. The CD follows up 2012’s “The Strange Case Of…” and is already being described as HALESTORM‘s most diverse and adventurous record yet.
In addition to its Grammy win, HALESTORM is the first female-fronted rock band to lodge three consecutive No. 1 tracks at the top of the rock radio chart.
HALESTORM began a North American tour with THE PRETTY RECKLESS on April 22 in Nashville.
