Tutto nasce nel 2000 dall’idea del batterista Sergi Hormigó, del chitarrista David Agüera e del cantante Antonio Landeira in un paesiono della Spagna, Ripollet. Nascono gli Hardreams.
Quello che mi appresto a recensire non è un nuovo lavoro bensì la riedizione del debutto, richiestissimo dai sostenitori ma praticamente introvabile, originariamente pubblicato dalla Vinny Records e ora riedito dalla Perris Records. Per essere un debutto la produzione è molto buona e il suono rende molto bene. La musica degli Hardreams rientra nel calderone dell’AOR, producendo un rock melodico essenziale mai elaborato, più atmosferico che incisivo, le chitarre non sono messe troppo in evidenza preferendo un suono molto dolce e mieloso.
Le undici tracce, più tre bonus per la riedizione, scorrono fin troppo rapide, si lasciano ascoltare e piacere. L’album risulta essere quasi un’unica entità, come fosse una lunga grande canzone e che pertanto dopo svariati ascolti stanca un po’. Probabilmente và inframezzato Caling Everywhere con qualcosa di più roccioso, o ascoltato in momenti più rilassanti per godere appieno della buona musica contenuta. Fatto sta che in questo primo lavoro si nota il valore del gruppo spagnolo, valore accresciuto con il lavoro successivo The Road Goes On… tanto da convincere l’etichetta a ristampare il precedente.
