LED ZEPPELIN's 'In Through The Out Door' Back In The Top 10

According to The Pulse Of Radio, LED ZEPPELIN‘s final original album, 1979’s “In Through The Out Door”, has made its way back into the Top 10, hitting No. 9. The album, along with 1976’s “Presence” and 1982 posthumous collection, “Coda”, are the latest and final deluxe reissues spearheaded by Jimmy Page. “In Through The Out Door” was originally released on August 15, 1979 and hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album charts exactly a month later, holding on to the top position for seven straight weeks, until it was toppled by THE EAGLES‘ “The Long Run” on November 9 of that year.

“In Through The Out Door” was a departure for the band, with bassist John Paul Jones taking a more mainstream songwriting role on the album, which also featured a strictly keyboard-based sound. Highlights on the set are “In The Evening”, “South Bound Saurez”, “Fool In The Rain” and “All My Love”.

“All Of My Love”, which was written by Robert Plant and John Paul Jones, was about the July 26, 1977 death of Plant‘s five-year-old son Karac from a stomach virus. Plant shed light on the massive blow the loss of his child had on his life. “Y’know, our fate, at, at times is so fragile, that when I lost my boy, I was 28 years old, and I was the King,” he said. “I had two kids and everything was amazing. I had no ideas of dealing with tragedy, or anything in life, which wasn’t just moving on. So when something as big — there is nothing bigger, really, I don’t think, than losing your child, and when that happens, you have to review everything about yourself, about your condition, and about the future of your family. And that was… it was so, sobering that I’ve never, ever — obviously — been the same ever again from that day on.”
