METALLICA Video Tribute To Virginia Tech Football Coach

On November 1st, Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer, a college football institution, announced he would be retiring at the end of the season.

Given that he’s been the coach of the Hokies since 1979, and has won seven conference titles and 276 games in his career, you knew Virginia Tech would put on quite the pre-game ceremony at their final home game of the season on Saturday. But a Metallica tribute? That’s pretty cool, reports TotalProSports.com.

The Hokies have been using Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” as their entrance music since 2000. As a result – James Hetfield, Robert Trujillo, and Lars Ulrich – filmed a farewell video message for Coach Beamer, which can be seen below.

In other Metallica-related football news, CBS Radio will celebrate the nation’s most anticipated sporting event with one of the biggest selling acts in American music history, Metallica. Among the most influential rock bands of all time, Metallica is set to headline CBS Radio’s The Night Before a one-of-a-kind concert experience, the evening prior to Super Bowl 50, on Saturday, February 6th, 2016 at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants.
