Currently slotted as the opening act for the ALICE COOPER/HALESTORM North American summer tour, MOTIONLESS IN WHITE has been subjected to an older, perhaps less understanding crowd than what it is normally used to. In an interview with Cameron Buchholtz of the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma radio station Rock 100.5 The KATT, vocalist Chris “Motionless” Cerulli shared what it was like for him and his bandmates to step on stage and realize they were playing songs that the ALICE COOPER audience may not exactly be familiar with.

“The most awkward moment for us was the first two or three shows,” he said (see video below). “We played ‘Necessary Evil’ and it didn’t click in my brain until we were just about to get to the chorus. I’m, like, ‘Oh boy, some of these older people are going to know where the ‘It’s my party’ thing actually is from.’ A lot of the younger fans don’t know, or they think it’s Melanie Martinez or something, but a lot of these older fans are going to know and be, like, ‘What the hell am I witnessing right now?’ So that was the most imploding, ‘Oh god, I want to die right now singing that part watching them just be like ‘What the fuck is this?’ But it’s still been really fun.”

Cerulli also spoke about the reaction to MOTIONLESS IN WHITE‘s latest studio album, “Disguise”, which was released in June. “It’s been great,” he said. “We had a great first week that we were honestly surprised about. We felt like the trend of how sales are going with CDs, we would drop considerably from our last record [‘Graveyard Shift’] like most bands are doing, and we actually did not drop more than just a few percent from the last record, which was, like, ‘What the hell?’ It made us feel really good. There’s still our diehard fans out there that are supporting the band who want us to keep going. When you’ve been a band for over ten years, that means a lot. Every year you’re a band after a certain amount of time, those moments mean so much more to you. It’s been great. They’ve been coming out to these shows, like I said, where they don’t necessarily have to. They’re here and supporting and they’re getting a great show from HALESTORM and ALICE COOPER along with it.”

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE will embark on a major U.S. headline tour in the fall. The new dates begin September 29 at Jacksonville, North Carolina’s Tarheel and run through late October. Support throughout comes from special guests WE CAME AS ROMANS, AFTER THE BURIAL and TWIZTID.

“Disguise” is highlighted by a series of singles, including “Brand New Numb”, “Undead Ahead 2: The Tale Of The Midnight Ride” and “Disguise”, the latter joined by a companion video directed by frequent collaborators Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn. In addition, “Brand New Numb” was recently joined by an official visual, directed by Max Moore.

MOTIONLESS IN WHITE is comprised of Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror, drummer Vinny Mauro, and bassist Justin Morrow.
