UK-bashers M:Pire Of Evil – featuring former Venom members Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan – have checked in with a recap of their recent Russian tour, which took them across the country:

“Well, people always ask about tour stories, what happened that sticks in your mind. As there is so much detail, here’s a rough bullet point guide to some of the ‘highlights’ as it were…

• Total distance covered in our ‘tour bus/van’: 3,954.28 km or 2,457.07 miles

• Cities visited:
– Moscow
– St.Petersberg
– Vladimir
– Cheboksary
– Kazan
– Samara
– Toylatti
– Saratov

• People, food, vodka, cities….amazing.

• Tony broke someone’s nose (yes, on purpose; that’s what happens when you pursue a point against pleas to desist).

• Mantas had an outburst in the bus/van as he’d had enough fucking around.

• Francesco (very drunk) chased a young bar girl while he was naked and then covered the (empty, thankfully) backstage in his vomit.

• Tony had a backstage meltdown and decided to throw everyone except the band out and cleaned up with a little less finesse that required (broken glass abounded!).

• Two ‘private’ party shows.

•Yuri ‘the machine’ drove all the way, at first without food, drink or even a toilet break.

• Rezet have a problem with a punter who gets ‘gassed’ by security.

• Rezet were fantastic, the nicest guys and what a band. You have to check ’em out. So much style and unique against the waves of sameness.

• Played a nuclear bunker (yes, a real one).

• Tony fractured a finger falling down a large set of concrete steps in said bunker.

• Everyone asked to don real army gasmasks for photos, then presented them as gifts.

• Visit a football training academy after an amazing lunch by the volga and many, many Beluga Vodka bottles. Bad idea. Swimming in New Rock boots is not the easiest thing.

• Journey home took two days with no sleep.

All in all, was a ripper…”
