NILE recently completed work on its ninth studio album. The follow-up to 2015’s “What Should Not Be Unearthed”, which is tentatively due in the fall, will mark the band’s first release with new guitarist/vocalist Brian Kingsland, who replaced Dallas Toler-Wade in 2017.
Last Wednesday, drummer George Kollias took to his Facebook page to write: “Listening to the new album mixed/mastered as i type, i cannot find the words to tell you how fucking great this album sounds!!! Mark Lewis nailed it, best production we ever had!!!! Prepare for this release, this album is a classic one…..mark my words!! #nileband #newalbum2019″
NILE will embark on the “A Vile Caustic Attack” U.S. tour in the fall. The 39-date trek, featuring special guests TERRORIZER, will kick off at the Loft at Centerstage in Atlanta, Georgia on November 1 and will conclude on December 14 at The Firmament in Greenville, South Carolina.
Speaking to Metal Mad TV at last year’s Hellfest in Clisson, France, guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders stated about the writing sessions for NILE‘s next disc: “It’s not an overly complicated process. We start writing the songs, and we share demos back and forth, and we all contribute and try to shape the music. But we’ve been interrupting the process with tours here and there. So we start on a few songs, we tour, come home, work on a few more, then go back on tour, come home, work on a few more.”
According to Karl, NILE‘s forthcoming album will feature vocals from him and bassist Brad Parris in addition to those of Kingsland.
“Brian is a very talented vocalist,” Sanders told Metal Wani. “Right now, we have more of the triple vocal attack [which is something] that had kind of fallen off in recent years. But now we’re doing that, where all three of us are sharing. It’s more equally balanced. I find it more interesting. I’m really happy about that too.”
Karl previously described Kingsland as “a seriously talented extreme metal guitar shredder” with “a great brutal metal voice [and] a very versatile range.” He added that “Brian is also a genuine, down-to-earth, hard-working and motivated guy who has helped reignite and re-establish a sense of team work back into NILE.”
“What Should Not Be Unearthed” was released in August 2015 via Nuclear Blast.
