Helmet Lady Records had this to say about Hawkeyes and Poison Slows You Down:
“Helmet Lady Records is very proud to offer Poison Slows You Down as our debut deluxe vinyl release. Hawkeyes very effectively transport listeners to an introspective place of wonder with their doom laden brand of stoner space rock. Four guitars paint an intricately woven, eerie landscape that is immensely sinister in tone, yet beautifully contemplative. A fine, rare mix of heavy elegance and delicate ruination mists throughout every melody. These are clearly men who dangerously dream by day, and welcome the chalky dusk with eyes wide open.”
With a release date scheduled for Record Store Day, April 18th, pre-orders of Poison Slows You Down can be purchased here.
Poison Slows You Down is streaming in its entirety at this location.
Additionally, Hawkeyes will also release a split 12″ titled Brothers Of The Nod with recent Juno nominees Shooting Guns. This is a co-release with Helmet Lady Records and Pre-Rock Records. Pre-Rock Records is handling the Canadian release and Helmet Lady is looking after the US/rest of world. Release is slated for late spring.
The band will also have the song “The Howling Damned” featured in the motion picture The Demolisher and the corresponding soundtrack to said film. The trailer can be viewed below.
