P.O.D. frontman Sonny Sandoval says that “passport” issues prevented drummer Noah “Wuv” Bernardo from taking part in the band’s current European tour.
Last month, Bernardo released a video message in which he said that he was sitting out the trek in order to “take care of some business” back home in San Diego. He is being temporarily replaced by Jonny Beats.
Asked by Germany’s Moshpit Passion about Wuv‘s absence from the trek, Sandoval said (see video below): “It’s all passport stuff. It’s a little difficult, all the red tape and all that stuff. So he couldn’t get it in time, but he’s working on it now. And hopefully with this run [doing] so well that promoters will bring us back sooner than later.”
In Bernardo‘s original message, he said that he had to take care of some matters at home, adding that it was “nothing crazy, nothing out of control or nothing serious.” He also promised that he would join his bandmates on P.O.D.‘s next European tour.
P.O.D. is continuing to tour in support of its latest album, “Circles”, which was released in November via Mascot Label Group. The disc saw the band collaborating with the Los Angeles-based production duo called the Heavy (Jason Bell and Jordan Miller), who ensured the album is contemporary sounding without losing any of the band’s core sonic signifiers.
