PHIL ANSELMO - “I’ve Got So Much Music That I’m About To Dump On The Public”; New SUPERJOINT Album Due November 11th; Video Interview

Elliott from Little Punk People had the chance to sit and chat with Phil Anselmo for a little while at the Monster Mania convention in Cherry Hill, NJ this past Sunday. In this interview, Phil reveals that his record with Bill Moseley, called Phil & Bill, is complete and they are just deciding on the cover artwork (Phil prefers the photo of them both holding kittens for the cover). He also notes that the new Superjoint album is coming out on November 11th.

Phil also answers Elliott’s question: “Satan or Farts?” as well as whether he would prefer Black Flag or black metal, and he also discusses which horror movie villain he’d like to be if he had to pick one.

At 6:13 in the video, Phil also discusses how there’s more music out there to explore than just heavy metal, rock and roll, or rap and roll (probably a playful dig) after talking about the amount of new music he’s been working on putting out in the future.

A Vulgar Display Of Pantera, from photographer Joe Giron, will be released on September 13th via Lesser Gods. The first-ever authorized visual history of Pantera, which features a foreword from Rex Brown, is a breathtaking, comprehensive look at one of the world’s most legendary metal bands.

Featuring rare and never-before-seen images of Pantera from their humble beginning to their grand finish, this visual tour de force includes contributions and recollections from band members Rex Brown and Vinnie Paul Abbott.

Vital moments of the band on the road, in the studio, at home, behind-the-scenes, and kicking ass on stage are all captured here in vulgar detail. Spanning two decades of metal decadence, this monograph is both a love song to Dimebag Darrell, one of rock’s last great guitar heroes, as well as a testament to Pantera’s enduring legacy.
