ROBERT PLANT Releases Second Episode Of 'Digging Deep' Podcast

Robert Plant has released the latest episode of his new podcast.

“Digging Deep: The Robert Plant Podcast” is available on iTunes, Spotify, Acast, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts.

In the second episode, the LED ZEPPELIN frontman discusses “Bones Of Saints”, a track from his 2017 album “Carry Fire”.

Speaking about why he spent most of the past two decades working with his band the SENSATIONAL SPACE SHIFTERS, Plant said: “It’s about vitality. I can’t hold back the hands of time or anything like that, but I can only be in environments where people really, really mean it, musically. Really mean it. In the last 18 years, I must have spent 14 of them in the company of these guys… We have an inherent capacity to start a new project and know that we have business to do. And so there’s drama, there’s emotion, there’s what I’d like to think is a very, very broad landscape of varied music within what we do, woven together with lyric and melody which has to be appropriate for somebody at my time in the game.”

THE SENSATIONAL SPACE SHIFTERS feature West African kora and vocal ace Juldeh Camara, guitarists Skin Tyson and Justin Adams (THE CURE), drummer Dave Smith, MASSIVE ATTACK keyboardist John Baggott and bassist Billy Fuller.

Plant maintains that the only way to stay relevant to himself, let alone an audience, is to constantly be moving and growing artistically. “I like to dig deep with the people I’m around,” he said. “Wherever I might in whatever circumstances; and that’s not just based on being a singer — that’s based on living a life. I mean, I’m pretty much of a, kind of a, a kind of strange firework, all the way though my life. I’m whizzing around and I don’t know which way I’m going to spring next. It really was quite a sobering revelation, really, to find that everything that I left behind was what I really cherish.”

Released in February 2018 on DVD and digital video was ROBERT PLANT & THE SENSATIONAL SPACE SHIFTERS “Live At David Lynch’s Festival Of Disruption”. The eight-song performance was captured on October 8, 2016 at L.A.’s Ace Hotel Theatre as part of David Lynch‘s inaugural Festival Of Disruption, which raised money for The David Lynch Foundation.
