Weiland passed away on December 3rd at the age of 48. Various reports indicate that Weiland’s manager discovered the singer’s lifeless body on his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota where Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts were scheduled to play The Medina Ballroom that night. As of Fiday night, December 4th, cause of death had yet to be determined.
Star Tribune is now reporting that one of Weiland’s bandmates, Thomas Delton Black, was arrested on suspicion of cocaine possession, according to police. Detectives said the cocaine was in the bedroom of the tour bus where Weiland was found.
Black, 47, of Studio City, CA is a member of Weiland’s current band, the Wildabouts, and was arrested on suspicion of having an additional small amount of cocaine. Black is being held by Bloomington police pending charges.
The initial 911 call came in as a possible deceased person. On the police scanner, police are heard saying it could be cardiac arrest. Police reiterated Friday that they aren’t yet releasing a cause of Weiland’s death.
