SLIPKNOT took to social media Thursday to tease fans with what is believed to be the announcement of a summer tour and possibly the first details of its upcoming studio album.
The band posted to Facebook a link to wearenotyourkind.com, a reference to lyrics featured in SLIPKNOT‘s latest single, “All Out Life”.
A desktop version of the site urges fans to visit wearenotyourkind.com on a mobile device, where it teases “8.9.2019,” which could allude to an August 9 release date for SLIPKNOT‘s new disc.
The web site comes with a countdown to Monday morning (March 4), when the official tour announcement is expected to be made.
SLIPKNOT‘s sixth album is once again being recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed the band’s 2004 LP “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” and helmed 2014’s “.5: The Gray Chapter”.
SLIPKNOT‘s video for “All Out Life” was directed by the band’s own M. Shawn Crahan.
Singer Corey Taylor recently described the band’s new music as “evil,” adding that the follow-up to “.5: The Gray Chapter” is “going to be ridiculous.”
According to Taylor, “All Out Life”, which arrived last October, isn’t “nearly as dark and vicious as the rest of the stuff that we have that we’re working on.”
“.5: The Gray Chapter” was released following a six-year hiatus during which founding SLIPKNOT bassist Paul Gray died and drummer Joey Jordison was dismissed.
