SOiL Release “Way Gone” Lyric Video

Chicago heavy rock outfit, Soil, have just released a lyric video for the song “Way Gone”. “Way Gone” comes from the band’s sixth full length album, Whole, which is the first release to feature original vocalist Ryan McCombs since 2004’s Re.de.fine.

The band have been on an extensive 2-year plus touring cycle promoting the album. “In this day and age you have to work an album for a long time in order for it to soak into people’s heads”, states bassist Tim King. “Everyone is bombarded with so much content through media these days that we still find out many fans are still just discovering the Whole album for the first time.”

According to vocalist Ryan McCombs, “The song “Way Gone” was one of those tunes that came together after the twelfth hour. From the first time that I heard the song in the writing process, I was a fan of the track but I couldn’t nail the lyrics in a way that I felt did the instrument noise justice. I wrote and rewrote the words numerous times but it wasn’t until the music had been tracked for the Whole CD, and I had even tried tracking a couple variations of lyrical ideas that I had for it that it all finally fell out of my shoulder melon and made sense to me. One of my favourite tracks on the CD and I think Kevin Desjardin (motion graphics artist) did a hell of a job on the lyric video. One of the best I’ve seen in my opinion..”

Soil will embark on a mini tour in February with support from Flaw and Beyond Threshold. Dates are as follows:
