STEVE ‘N’ SEAGULLS Confirm UK Headline Shows; Debut Farm Machine Out In May

Starting on a farm in central Finland, rednecks Steve ‘N’ Seagulls recently posted a customized version of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” wearing the daftest outfits they could find. They filmed the event, posted the results on YouTube, and within a couple of weeks the clip had accumulated over five million views.

Before long, “Thunderstuck” had racked up several million more views (it’s now over 10 million), and Steve ‘N’ Seagulls had joined forces with Spinefarm Records, with the result that these five ‘barnyard boogiemen’ are now on the verge of an international release for their debut album, Farm Machine.

Sporting possibly the greatest band name in history, S‘N’S – that’s an acoustic guitarist/vocalist; a banjo player; a double-bassist; a big dude wearing overalls an’ a beaver hat playing mandolin/keyboards/accordion/whatever-he-gets-his-hands-on; and a cajon-straddlin’ percussionist – have delivered a 13-track album featuring rural riffs and villager vocals, filled to the brim with “hillbillified” versions of immortal heavy metal standards – the likes of “Holy Diver” (Dio), “The Trooper” (Iron Maiden), “Seek And Destroy” (Metallica) “Paradise City” (Guns N’ Roses) and “Thunderstruck” (AC/DC).

Album celebrations kick off with a home-grown show (streamed live around the globe by Finland’s nationwide TV Nelonen) on April 17th, then Farm Machine comes bursting through the barn doors on May 5th (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland), May 11th (UK/rest Europe), and a day later in the US. It’s a body of work best enjoyed with a bath-tub of moonshine close at hand, but really, as foot-stompingly enjoyable as S‘N’S are on record, you ain’t seen nothin’ ’til you’ve experienced The ’Gulls live.

The redneck show tours non-stop – rocking the honky-tonks in Finland & Estonia until the end of April, then moving on to jangle the living bejeezus out of UK fans in May; the UK dates are as follows:

May
16 – Brighton, UK – The Great Escape
17 – Rushden, UK – Athletic Club
18 – London, UK – Borderline
19 – Southampton, UK – Talking Heads
20 – Nuneaton, UK – Queens Hall
21 – Harwich, UK – The Red Lion Manningtree
