Dutch modern progressive metallers TEXTURES entered the studio last week to record the follow-up for their 2011 album “Dualism”, due in early 2016 via Nuclear Blast. This will be the band’s first effort with guitarist Joe Tal, who joined TEXTURES in 2013. Founding TEXTURES guitarist Jochem Jacobs, who left the band in 2012, will also be a part of the process as he will be producing and mixing the upcoming album at his Split Second Sound Studio. In addition working with Jochem, TEXTURES will have Yuma Van Eekelen (EXIVIOUS, PESTILENCE) on board as co-producer/engineer at both Split Second Sound Studio as well as guitarist Bart Hennephof and Yuma‘s own Final Focus Studio.

Says TEXTURES in a statement: “We are thrilled to be back in the studio after such a long time. We know our fans are waiting for a while now as our previous album, ‘Dualism’, has been released four years ago already. We have spent a long time making the songs really fit, so we can tell you this album will have something in store for every TEXTURES fan out there and even more than that!!”

TEXTURES already played one of the new songs live on its “Polars” 10th-anniversary tour last October (see video below), and it was “well received by the fans,” according to the band.
