The clip below features drummer Dan Fila of reactivated Canadian metallers Varga executing a playthrough of the band’s “Far East Super Slaughter”, taken from their 2014 release Return Of The Metal.
Fila: “Thank you Joe Varga for all of your hard work you put in making this video. I’m very fortunate to have such great friends.”
Varga recently announced they have parted ways with guitarist Adam Alex, and that they have decided to continue as a trio.
“Big A would be too hard to replace, and so, despite the musical challenges it presents, the band has decided to continue on as a three-piece.”
Adam has issued the following statement regarding his departure:
“Hello Varga Fans!
Thank you for all of your support since our reunion. It’s been a total blast re-recording and performing our material to our heavy metal fanatics. Unfortunately I will no longer be performing with the band due to a set of unfortunate circumstances. Joe, Dan and Sean will continue to perform our songs as a 3-piece outfit and will no doubt jam them hard. I’d like to thank our crew Ed, Al and Todd. You guys are truly hardcore !!
This is my last Varga related post. It’s been a pleasure performing for you and I wish the rest of the band the best in their future endeavors.”
On July 17th, Varga performed live at the Historic Red Dog in Peterborough, Ontario. Check out the fan-filmed video below:
Varga released a new music video earlier this year for the track “Beginning Of The End”, featured on their 2013 album, Enter The Metal. The video was produced and directed by Joe Varga and can be seen below.
