METALLICA is streaming a live rehearsal special called “Now That We’re Live” on Facebook Live tonight (Tuesday, May 9) at 9:00 p.m. ET. The special is taking place at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, where the band kicks off the North American leg of the “WorldWired” tour the following night (May 10). The band is scheduled to deliver a full-scale rehearsal performance during the webcast, consisting of four songs and giving fans a preview of the new stage production.
You can now watch the rehearsal below.
The presentation will be available for on-demand viewing following the live stream via Metallica.com and the band’s Facebook page.
Drummer Lars Ulrich said: “We are psyched to share some of our rehearsals and final pre-production run-through with our friends around the world, and we hope you’ll come hang with us as we fire up the engines for the North American summer run.”
A limited number of fan club members had the opportunity to attend the event by entering to win at Metallica.com.
Viewers will also be able to donate on Facebook Live to METALLICA‘s All Within My Hands Foundation, which supports national, local and Bay Area charities that the individual band members support, as well as music education programs and local food banks.
The tour will hit stadiums in 25 cities before winding down in mid-August. Support on the quartet’s first North American trek since 2009 will come from AVENGED SEVENFOLD, VOLBEAT and GOJIRA.
Bassist Robert Trujillo told The Pulse Of Radio that METALLICA is excited to introduce a new live show to American fans. “Bringing the show to life on the big stage is always great with METALLICA,” he said. “You know, there’s a lot of creative energy and focus that goes into that. Visual production, bringing it to life, while trying to create, you know, as much as possible something that’s intimate… just get out there and, you know, make it happen visually and sonically.”
Tune in to “Now That We’re Live” on Tuesday, May 9 at 9 PM EDT to get a sneak peek of the WorldWired Tour the night before the first show.
